Regulation (EU) 2025/40, known as the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), introduces new requirements for packaging placed on the European Union market, aiming to reduce environmental impact, improve recyclability and promote a more sustainable use of resources.

The Regulation has been applicable since 12 August 2026, following a phased implementation schedule.
